So whoa, Sunday’s shoot was hard. We started out the day with the plan to shoot an office friendly/casual workwear look book. Which actually involved us driving to Grand Prairie. That did… not work out. I felt like my styling was off, we didn’t like the location, and it was just way too hot to have Averi out on a shoot.
After putting a pause on that and heading into Bishop Arts for a meeting, we eventually decided to grab lunch and reimagine what we wanted to shoot. Thus, this look was born. I actually tossed it together in about two seconds, but it turned out better than what we originally tried to shoot.
So, ta-da! Colored my hair. This bright ass lemon isn’t very fall, but it should pop against all the dark tones I plan to wear this season. Like this outfit.
I grabbed this dark, off shoulder top from Strut. It’s got a bit of a sleeve with an elastic cuff that creates a nice bit of bunching at the elbow. It’s got a nice texture to it, so obviously I paired it with a suede skirt for extra contrast. The front zipper on this guy is a nice detail that I feel elevates my outfits every time I wear it.
A big thing I focused on while styling were fall textures. Clothing items that felt fall.
Another detail would be these torn-to-hell BC mules. I wore these SO MUCH last season and I am shocked they’re still in such good condition. Shout out to BC Footwear for making such solid shoes. I also have these babies in silver and they’re also in perfect condition.
I also grabbed my one and only hat- a wide brim from STRUT that my kiddo loves to steal as often as she can. Totally didn’t notice she had puffed out the top. What can ya do?
I’ve been iffy about this hat. It was a purchase back when I had really short hair and since my hair has grown out I’ve felt weird wearing it. Makes no sense, I know! I’m just picky about small details like that. I finally bit the bullet and wore it. After a few minutes of adjustment I got used to it. /dramatic
The final details were my favorite bracelet from Eloisa’s Store and the Vedette sunnies from EyeBuyDirect. There’s a necklace in there somewhere, but its delicate and gold and you can’t really see it anyway. Shout out to me, the Hipster-est of Babes.
