BEAUTYPOST: SephUlta Haul + Moisturizer Recs [REQ]

I’ve been holding onto some returns for a while now- I’m just too damn busy to get my ass to the mall. Finally though, Monday came round and it was time for a Sephora trip.

-Pat McGrath Metalmorphosis Kit in Gold

  • This was just a dud. Literally nothing about this product impressed me and the eyeliner was SO AWFUL. Difficult to apply, feathered easily- just a no from me. And for $60? Nooope.

-Fresh Skincare Treasures

  • This isn’t necessarily Fresh’s fault- I have sensitive skin. I’m prone to eczema and unfortunately every rose product in this set irritated my eczema INTENSELY. The cleanser was awesome though.

-Givenchy Mister Brow Filler Tinted Waterproof Brow filler in Brunette

  • Maybe I should’ve gone darker? All I know is that this made my brows look ashy and um… pretty damn grey.

-Sephora Eye Mask: Avocado

-Sephora Sleep Mask: Pearl

-First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser

-Sephora Bright Future Color Corrector

-Sephora Radiant luminizing drops in Morning Light

-Beauty Blender

-Drunk Elephant NightBright duo

-Birthday Gift! I grabbed the Tarte lip & cheek gift.

I didn’t stop there! We also stopped by MAC & I grabbed Fix+. Prior to this I also purchased Covergirl Lashblast Volume from Target- it’s my fav drugstore mascara. Now onto Ulta-

-Makeup Revolution blush palette in Hot Spice

-Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in 003 Natural

That was my haul now onto- Moisturizer Recs! I had a request from a friend of mine so I figured a quick blogpost would be the way to go.

Onto the moisturizer recommendations!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+

What I liked: Back before I was coping with eczema flair ups on my face this was my go to. In fact- it was my first moisturizer purchase. It wasn’t necessarily super lightweight, but it wore well under foundation. I used the lotion as I have normal skin, but if you’re oily I would suggest using the gel.

What I didn’t like: I personally found that this DID make me feel a little oily in the summer months. If you’re mostly staying indoors this shouldn’t be a problem! But if you’re active- skip it. Or try the gel!

DR. JART+ Water Drop

What I liked: What don’t I like? It’s SO LIGHTWEIGHT! Apply this to your skin and it almost melts- I swear. It feels like you’re rubbing actual water into your skin. My skin has been so happy since I’ve begun to use this.

What I don’t like– Sorry, no complaints as of yet!

Sephora Collection Intensive Instant Moisturizer + Cream

What I liked: I had enough samples of this to use it for about a week while I was between moisturizers. It goes on silky and leaves you feeling super refreshed!

What I didn’t like: Aside from seemingly having glitter in it- it doesn’t always work well with foundations. You could find yourself looking a bit oily.

BEFiNE Night Cream with Cocoa, Millet, and Rice Bran

What I liked: This was a bit of a savior for me when I ran out of the Sephora stuff. It didn’t make me oily, my skin felt super soft, and it wore well under makeup. I know it’s intended for a night cream, but I used it easily as a daily when my skin was on the drier side.

What I didn’t like: I actually don’t have any complaints about this!

Hopefully this was helpful! See you all next week ☕

EDIT: I just wanted to pop in and say that the CoverGirl mascara was a dud for me this time. I’m not sure if they reformulated or if I’m just more sensitive, but while using it my eyelids swelled pretty big and my eyes were pretty damn itchy. I’ve been using the Tarte Maneater mascara since and it’s awesome!
