4 Ways to Become a Fashion Blogger (While On A Budget)

Have you ever wondered how to become a fashion blogger, even though you’re on a budget?

Let me tell you, it’s easier than you think. I started this blog with an iPhone and a dream. I borrowed clothes, wore the same shorts a million different times, and figured out the rest as I was going along. The fashion world can be rather… exclusive at times. That doesn’t mean you can’t carve out a space for yourself. In fact, I encourage it! So here’s my advice for starting a fashion blog on a budget. Enjoy!

Reach out to local small businesses.

Chances are that they already know what they’re doing, but might need models for social media or brand ambassadors. While I was running a boutique, I launched a blogger lending program where bloggers could use our clothes on shoots. It doesn’t hurt to ask to collaborate or model for them. Modeling for their social media means exposure for you, as well as photos!

    Blog about affordable fashion.

So you’re on a budget? That’s a niche right there. Blog about how you dress well on a budget. Where do you find affordable clothes? There are people out there looking for ways to make the most out of their closets. Show ’em!

    Shop sales.

Don’t spend your money on new releases. Instead, focus on sales! Look for fabulous clearance sections, student discounts, and companies that do free shipping (think ASOS- who also pay your taxes).

Don’t limit yourself to just you!

Sometimes I blog about what my KID is wearing. Occasionally I feature other people on this blog. In fact, I’m planning to do it more often now! Think of ways you can blog about fashion outside of what you wear. It might just surprise you!

So there ya have it! Let me know what you think, or if you have any advice to add! Until next time – Sam
